MIDLAND, TX (KWES) -

Olive Garden is giving back to first responders around the country this Labor Day including in the Permian Basin.

They're making sure EMS, police officers and firefighters are getting a warm meal for the holiday.

Employees at the Olive Garden in Midland stopped by the Midland Fire Department and Midland Police Department to serve lunch.

They say it's a way of saying thanks and serving those who serve the community.

"They serve us, I mean, think about what just happened in Houston. These men and women put their lives on the line for us every day, literally. The least we could do is give them lunch once a year," said MaryDee East, Olive Garden Service Manager.

Olive Garden has taken part in the Labor Day first responder deliveries for the last 16 years.
