ODESSA, TX (KWES) - A suspect is behind bars accused of assaulting a public servant, evading arrest, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
Police say Saturday morning just before 10:30 a.m., an officer located a car in the 3100 block of Andrews Highway that was involved in an assault Friday in the 500 block of Amburgey.
The driver of the car Alexander Delgado, 20, drove into the alley behind Auto Zone, hitting a telephone pole. Delgado then accelerated quickly and jumped out of the moving vehicle while sending it into the OPD officer's patrol unit. The officer chased Delgado, but eventually lost him.
A K-9 was used and began tracking the suspect. Delgado was found underneath a car.
Delgado was arrested and taken to the Ector County Jail.
