STANTON, TX (KWES) - It's only the fourth year for Bustin' for Badges but it's already proved to be an event that brings together the community and law enforcement. The amount of people that made it to Windwalker Farms on Friday turned out to be a record amount.
"I probably don't shoot that well but I like everybody that's on the team and just seeing people that you don't get to see every day," said Leonard Netherlin, Operations Manager at Team Oil Tools.
"It's been fabulous! This is our fourth annual Bustin' for Badges and we've had a great turnout," said Sgt. Jimmy Young with the Midland Police Department. "Everybody is coming out, having a good time, socializing, shooting some clays so it's all been good."
The clay shoot is the biggest fundraiser in West Texas for law enforcement.
"We feel that the police officers are getting a bad rep a lot of the time around the country and we just wanna show them our support and be able to raise some funds to be able to do it," said Netherlin.
We are still waiting to hear the total amount of money raised through the event. Officials tell us this is the biggest turn out for the event, so far.
