(RNN) - After months of waiting for April the giraffe to give birth, the only thing left to do now is give that baby a name.

April gave birth to a male calf Saturday morning as more than 1 million people watched live on YouTube and Facebook. The no-so-little guy stands 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 129 pounds.

Animal Adventure Park is holding a contest to name the baby. Votes can be cast through their website for a fee of $1 per vote with a five-vote minimum. After the 10-day name submission period, around April 25, the zoo will announce the top 10 most popular names. After that, fans can vote on those 10 names for about five days.

There is also a petition to name the giraffe baby after the real-life son of a South Carolina woman who donned a giraffe mask during her pregnancy in mock tribute to April. She even wore the giraffe mask in the hospital. She named her son Porter.

Mother and baby continue to be featured on the YouTube livestream, but it is not clear how much longer it will be up. The park has posted to its Facebook page that it will come down as it prepares to re-open after having closed for the winter due to the amount of resources that live camera requires and a heavy volume of emails from viewers.

Based on comments on Animal Adventure Park's Facebook page, Apollo seems to be an early favorite. It is a portmanteau of April, Oliver and "little one" after the giraffe baby and his parents.

Geoffrey also is a popular choice given the park's sponsorship deal with Toys 'R' Us, which uses a giraffe named Geoffrey as its mascot.
