Midland Police currently investigating string of bomb threats towards H-E-B

The H-E-B off of Loop 250 was forced to evacuate after another written bomb threat was made against the store Wednesday afternoon.

MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - Two written bomb threats at the H-E-B off Loop 250 has Detective Kevin Bullard running point as the lead detective in the investigation. Bullard said the department believes one suspect is connected to the two threats and they aren't taking these threats lightly.

"They do it two or three times and they build up to a particular event that actually is something there that is of concern and you take a lackadaisical approach that could cause some grief for everybody in the long run," said Bullard.

It the safety concerns Bullard and H-E-B have when it comes to threats like these. In a statement from the corporate offices, H-E-B said in part: The safety of our customers and partners are top priority for H-E-B and we take every precaution to ensure safety when in our stores.

Bullard added just because an incident didn't happen the first time there's no telling what could happen the next time.

"We always base it off this is the first time we're going. It could be something this time we never know. As a bomb tech, you have to know well it wasn't anything last time so it probably nothing this time," said Bullard.

The Midland Police Department is currently working with the FBI in the case. If a suspect is caught, then that person could be facing state and federal charges.
