Two confirmed tornadoes touch down in the Permian Basin

(KWES) - The National Weather Service has confirmed that two tornadoes touched down in the Permian Basin.

The first tornado touched down just east of the city of Midkiff in Upton County between 7:20 and 7:30 pm.

We have received reports about power poles down in the area around Midkiff.

The second tornado touched down in southeast Mitchell County.

Our thanks to the National Weather Service for confirming the reports.
