MIDLAND COUNTY, TX (KWES) -

There was a lot of talk about nuclear waste at Monday's Midland County Commissioners court meeting.

More specifically about moving it through Midland.

Waste Control Specialists, outside of Andrews, is hoping to get a license to temporarily store high level nuclear waste but they would need to move that nuclear waste by train right through Midland County.

Several Midlanders showed up to Monday's meeting to express their worry about having the potential hazard roll through town.

After hearing from the public, the commissioners court will enlist the help of the county attorney to write a resolution that Midland County does not support the waste moving through.

The court hopes to have the resolution passed at their next meeting.
