ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) - One juvenile is behind bars following an early morning high speed pursuit in Ector County on Monday.
We're told a brown Pontiac Grand Prix was seen by Ector County Sheriff's Office deputies traveling in excess of 100 miles per hour.
Authorities said deputies attempted a traffic stop in the area of 16th St. and West Loop 338 intersection.
However, the driver continued eastbound at speeds over 100 miles per hour.
According to the report, the vehicle at times hit dips in the road so hard that it caused sparks to fly from the back bumper and fishtailing into the westbound lane.
The pursuit came to an end in the 500 block of W. 24th St. due to a lack of oil.
Authorities said the driver did get out of the vehicle and tried to run from police but was quickly captured.
The driver has been charged with evading in a motor vehicle.
The driver's name will not be released due to the driver being a juvenile.
