Former Boys & Girls Club director sentenced for embezzlement

MIDLAND, TX (KWES) -

Former Boys & Girls Club director, Luther Dobbins, appeared in court Wednesday morning and was sentenced for theft.

Dobbins was sentenced to 5 years probation, given a $100.00 fee and will have to pay back $86,922.00 in restitution.

Dobbins pleaded guilty January 2017 for stealing thousands from the non-profit between August 2010 and July 2011.

Luther Dobbins "embezzled, stole, obtained by fraud, [wrongfully used] and intentionally misapplied" at least $5,000 during his tenure as club director, according to the grand jury indictment.
