Man arrested following morning foot pursuit in Ector Co.

ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) -

One man is behind bars following a foot pursuit in Ector County on Friday morning.

Justin Montgomery, 37, was arrested.

We're told that deputies with the Ector County Sheriff's Office were called out to the 6000 block of W. University Ave. in reference to an unwanted subject outside a 7-Eleven store parking lot.

When deputies confronted Montgomery, he first gave a false name but authorities were able to identify him.

Authorities said that Montgomery had outstanding warrants for resisting arrest and failure to appear for that charge.

Deputies said as they attempted to arrest him, he evaded on foot but was quickly captured and arrested.

New charges including evading on foot and failure to identify were added.

Montgomery is currently behind bars at the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.

No bond has been set yet.
