Fugitive arrested for endangering a child in Odessa

ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

One woman is behind bars on charges of endangering a child.

Lisa Juarez-Villa, 28, was arrested last week.

Odessa police were called out to the intersection of 7th St. and Mc Call Pl. in reference to a found child.

When officers arrived, two witnesses reported that they saw a small child walking in the middle of the road. According to the report, the two witnesses also reported that the child was a three-year-old female.

Officers were also told that the two witnesses stopped their vehicles as the child was walking toward Grandview Avenue on 7th Street.

Then according to the witnesses, they saw Juarez-Villa about seven to ten minutes later walk out of a home in the 1900 block of E. 7th St.

According to the report, Juarez-Villa told the witnesses that she was babysitting the child.

Police said further investigation showed that Juarez-Villa was watching her four children including a friend's child.

Juarez-Villa was later arrested and taken to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.

We're told that Child Protective Services was notified of the incident and the child was released to its mother.
