SCAM ALERT: Midland police warning residents about scam call

The Midland Police Department is warning residents after receiving notice of a scam call going around.

We're told the caller claims to be Lt. Lynchfield with the Midland Police Department.

The caller states that if he isn't paid, he will put out a warrant for the person's arrest.

Police said the call appears on caller ID to be coming from Midland Police Department's non-emergency line at (432) 685-7108.

Police are asking residents if you ever receive a call that you feel is suspicious, to hang up immediately and contact Midland Police at (432) 685-7108.

    The Big Spring Police Department and Howard County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Department of Public Safety and Howard County District Attorney’s Office, have just completed an operation targeting online sexual predators.  During this operation, undercover investigative personnel posted fictitious ads or profiles on various social media platforms, and websites posing as prostitutes or those soliciting prostitutes.
