BIG SPRING, TX (KWES) - We have new information following Tuesday's officer-involved shooting in Big Spring.
Texas DPS have identified the suspect as Raul Reyes, 60, of Big Spring.
Reyes is currently being treated for injuries at University Medical Center in Lubbock.
We have also learned that this was not Reyes' first run in with law enforcement.
Some of his criminal history includes arrests for a DWI, evading arrest and assault causing bodily injury.
It all started as a 911 call to authorities.
We're told multiple shots were fired and two weapons were recovered at the scene, one of which was an assault rifle used to fire at officers.
We're told no officers were injured in the shooting but a Big Spring police officer and DPS Trooper were involved in the shooting.
Texas Rangers are continuing the investigation.
