MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - One midland woman is behind bars accused of trying to hire a man to kill her husband.
Laura Dematti, 56, is charged with solicitation of murder.
According to the report, a man recorded the encounter and later went to police. The document doesn't give the identity of the man, but says he came forward on December 14.
In the recorded conversations, police say Dematti describes her home with her husband in great detail. The two even drew out a map.
Dematti also tells the man that the murder is a two person job. She tells him to go in and out of the home through the back and describes her neighbors.
The man said the job will be quiet and that they will use a silencer on the gun so there won't be a lot of noise.
Dematti said she wants to keep the safe in the home, her husband's wallet and phone, but that they would share the $90,000 she would get from her husband's death.
Police say that Dematti refused to speak with police about the incident and was arrested on the December 15.
Her husband told police he was concerned for his safety and life.
Bond for Dematti has been set at $1 million.
