LOVING COUNTY, TX (KWES) - A downed tower in Loving County is causing phone problems for county offices and residents.
Loving County Sheriff Chris Busse tells us the tower is on a cement base and the guide wires either broke or came out of the ground causing the tower to collapse.
As a result, the downed tower knocked out all phone and internet service.
Busse said he has spoken with Windstream and the representative said it could take two to four months to fix it.
Busse has asked the company to install fiber optic lines instead of rebuilding the tower.
Currently, if a resident calls 911 for help, the call currently goes to Reeves or Winkler County.
We're told this has been an issue for at least the past eight years with storms knocking out service about twice a month.
