The funeral of the Iraan cheer sponsor killed in a deadly bus crash has been set. The Iraan community will honor Liz Pope at the local high school on Thursday.
"We are proud to be able to help with her memory," said Becky Alldredge. "It's all for Liz."
In a town of just over 1,000 people, when tragedy hits, everyone feels it.
"She was just beautiful. Just happy, happy going all the time, just full of spirit, full of tradition," said Alldredge.
The death of Liz shook the small town of Iraan, but the tragic bus crash also touched the lives of people across the country.
"We are processing orders and they are coming in from everywhere, not just our little community, but from the state and even out of state. We've had orders from everywhere," said Michelle Kent, who is a local florist.
Locals like Kent can hardly keep up with the outpouring of support. More than a hundred orders to fill by Thursday.
Kent and her helpers are putting together flowers and plants for the funeral.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. in the auditorium of the high school.
"I don't think there is any other place to have it. She was such a part of our school district. There's no better place to have it," said Kent.
"It is going to be a beautiful, beautiful service. She loved everything pretty, everything red, black and white and that is what we are doing. I don't think we did any other color," said Alldredge.
