ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

One man is behind bars on charges of illegally dumping items.

Michael Flora, 39, is charged with illegal dumping and for 12 outstanding warrants.

Police said while they were patrolling in the 4300 block of Brazos Ave., they saw smoking coming from a home.

When officers arrived, they found a large pile of wood and tree limbs on fire.

According to the report, the officers saw that the fire was getting out of control and getting close to the neighbor's fence and trees and the amount of litter and solid waste was over 200 cubic feet.

Officers later spoke with Flora who owned the home where the fire was located.

Authorities said an investigation revealed that Flora took the litter and solid waste to a site that wasn't an approved waste site for disposal.

Flora was later arrested and taken to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
