MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - It was a handful of drains that Randy Sanchez owner of Randy's Rooter and Plumbing in Midland had to fix on Thanksgiving Day.
"Three residential homes and one restaurant. It was a disposal which I consider a kitchen sink as well," said Sanchez.
Sanchez said fixing a clogged drain takes at least 45 minutes to an hour and during the week its usually $90 per visit, but days like Thanksgiving the price doubles.
He added every home and business usually has a vent and when his business get a call about a clogged drain they get on the roof and get to work.
"Once the kitchen sink clogs up, the vent gives you access to the drain. It allows the drain to breathe and it gives you access to unclog it," said Sanchez.
As more people will get together this holiday season, Sanchez offered advice for families to follow or his phone will continue to ring.
"Everything goes in the trash can. Anything too big needs to go into the trash can," said Sanchez.
Sanchez added potatoes skins, onion skins, celery, and sadly turkey are some of the worst foods to put down your drain.
