ODESSA, TX (KWES) - On Wednesday, Thanksgiving came early for Ajuua's in Odessa as staff and volunteers from Helping Hands, helped bring families a full meal.
From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. those who entered the restaurant had a choice of ham, turkey and mashed potatoes, to cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. The restaurant on 2120 Andrews Highway welcomed everyone with open doors.
Jackie Lopez, Assistant General Manager said, "Sometimes we think we have problems and are going through stuff but sometimes there's people that go through worse."
The idea to feed the hungry came after the restaurant gave a free meal to a homeless man for the last year and for people like Nathaniel Garray who suffered through some hard times, said a meal like this is one of the many things he's thankful for.
"I managed to get a job, I'm one step closer off the streets," Garray.
