ODESSA, TX (KWES) - Odessa Police are looking for four teens who they said helped themselves to thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from a home in the 900 block of McKinney Ave. last month. Police said the surveillance footage taken from the home was before the teens smashed the camera and stole the items.
Corporal Steve LeSueur of the Odessa Police Department said, "They did make entry into the backdoor."
Police say the teens stole a $4,000 national championship ring, a $3,000 wedding ring, an Xbox, Michael Kors watch, a Samsung Notebook and cash.
With the holiday season right around the corner, LeSueur said to prevent crimes like this from happening people can: buy an alarm, stay alert, warn neighbors about potential dangers and most importantly write down any serial number that an item might have in case if it stolen so it could be easier to track down.
"A lot of this property that's being stolen, the first thing they do is take it to a pawn shop," said LeSueur.
LeSueur added if you sense a situation going south, trust your instincts.
"If something doesn't seem right, it probably isn't," said LeSueur.
LeSueur said if you have any information on this case you are asked to call Detective Chavez with the Odessa Police Department at (432) 335-3347 or Odessa Crime Stoppers at (432) 333-TIPS.
