REEVES COUNTY, TX (KWES) - We are learning new details about the crash last night that sent a Reeves County deputy to the hospital.
Reeves County Sheriff Art Granado tells us Deputy Jason Reed was trying to help DPS chase a suspect in Interstate 20.
During the chase, the deputy was trying to pass an 18-wheeler, but the big rig didn't pull over and didn't pay attention to his flashing lights and siren.
Reed ended up crashing into the truck.
He was airlifted to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa from the scene and is in serious condition.
