The state is looking to end bottled water deliveries to folks with lead-tainted water in Flint.

Thursday, some Michigan officials asked a federal judge to stop a court order that requires the state to deliver four cases of water per resident each week to homes without water filters.

A judge issued the order after residents said picking up water from the city's resource sites was too much of a burden.

State officials are not happy with that decision.

Lawyers said the order goes beyond what is necessary.

According to the Detroit News, the state said it would cost more than $10 million a month because it would have to deliver nearly 400,000 cases a week.

The judge gave the city of Flint and others until next Wednesday to respond to the state's request.
