WEST ODESSA, TX (KWES) - Right now, just under 1,500 people are without power in West Odessa.

ONCOR tells us that they have been upgrading the substation that services the area.

While they are upgrading, they brought in mobile substations.

We're told there was a failure in one of those substations, causing the outage.

Crews are out working to reroute the power and they are bringing in another substation.

Officials say it's a slow moving process but they are working as fast as they can to get power restored to the area.

There's no word on a timeline for power to be back on.
