Andrews County voters reject road proposition

Andrews County voters were not in favor of the proposition to consolidate equipment from all four precincts to one.

ANDREWS COUNTY, TX (KWES) - Over 80% of Andrews County voters were not in favor of the proposition to consolidate equipment from all four precincts to one.

Outgoing Precinct 1 Commissioner Barney Fowler proposed the idea to the voters saying consolidating equipment would help save money for the county but Precinct 3 Commissioner Jeneane Anderegg and others said it wouldn't.

"It was sold to the public that it was going to save money and I don't think it was going to save any money. I think it would be a disruption to the way we do things and it would hurt the public more than anybody else," said Anderegg.

Now that the proposition was rejected by the voters, Anderegg added everything will stay the same.
