Man arrested after leading Odessa PD on chase

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - An Odessa man is behind bars after allegedly evading police in a car and then on foot Monday morning.

Authorities say just after 8:00 a.m., officers saw a stolen white Suburban in the area of Murphy St. and Grandview Ave.

When the officers tried to conduct a traffic stop, the car refused to pull over and evaded officers from OPD, DPS and the Ector County District Attorney's Office.

At about 8:20 a.m., the car stopped in the alley of Dwayne St. where the suspect then left the vehicle and ran through Comanche Trail Park.

The driver, identified as Victor Hugo Galindo Jr., 32, was eventually found near Samson Rd. and Pool Rood.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Galindo was arrested and charged with evading a motor vehicle, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was also found to have two felony theft warrants.
