MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - The Midland Chamber of Commerce met Wednesday morning to talk about the impact of oil and gas in the Permian Basin at this year's state of the economy event.
Chamber members discussed their predictions for oil and gas prices in 2017.
Midland County Judge Mike Bradford believes the economy in the Permian Basin is actually progressing.
"I think the economy is improving. The signs indicate that, we think the improvement will be slower. This bouncing around of extreme prices we think will narrow where there's no more than a $10 deviation any point of time. What we do know is the companies are still investing and certainly the suppliers are starting to ramp up," Bradford said.
Oil and gas was not the only topic of discussion at this event.
Chamber members covered a series of topics including the economic impact of Midland County Horseshoe Arena, road maintenance, and the new Amphitheater.
