FORSAN, TX (KWES/KBYG) - Howard County Volunteer firefighters remain on the scene mopping up following an afternoon grass fire near Forsan.
The fire sparked up around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon around the area of FM 461 and Longshore Road.
We're told the fire is 100% contained and the size of the fire was just under a mile long and half a mile wide and threatened 15 houses nearby.
However, none of those homes were damaged.
During the day, firefighters had troubles containing the fire due to high winds in the area.
Officials believe a broken power pole short caused the fire to start.
No injuries have been reported and no structures have been damaged.
