Authorities searching landfills for evidence in Verk disappearance

ALPINE, TX (KWES) -

Alpine Police have moved their search for evidence in the disappearance of Zuzu Verk to area landfills.

Authorities say their searches in the Alpine and Presidio landfills are complete and they are currently searching the landfill in Odessa.

Officials expect to complete their inspection of the landfills this weekend.

Police also are continuing to follow up on any new leads they receive. 

Verk’s boyfriend, Robert Fabian is the primary suspect in her disappearance.

She was last heard from during the early morning hours on Wednesday, October 12.

Verk is described as 5 feet tall, 110 pounds with blonde hair and hazel eyes. Her natural hair color is brown but has recently been colored blonde. 

Police are also asking the public for information about two cars, a grey 2006 Jeep Liberty and a 2004 Mazda Miata convertible with a beige top. The vehicles were seen driving between the hours of midnight and 10:00 am on Wednesday October 12, 2016.
