ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) -

Mitzi Scheible, Ector County Elections Administrator said her office has been getting calls from concerned voters Thursday about the possibility of ballots being changed. She said the term originated on social media and in the county all votes are safe and secure.

“I can say to the voters, I suggest they go down to each race and select their candidate of their choice,” Scheible.

Ballot flipping has caused a stir after many voters believed their choices were switched last minute causing issues at polls. In Ector County, officials say that would never happen.

“If you go in there and accidentally hit the cast button and haven’t selected anything a message comes up saying no selections have been chosen. That way in case if you did not make any votes whatsoever, it lets you know,” Scheible.

Scheible added the great thing about voting is that it’s the person’s choice and they want to keep it that way.

“We don’t want people knowing how other people vote,” Scheible.
