ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

Odessa police are warning citizens about the recent circulation of counterfeit bills in Odessa.

Authorities have received several reports involving counterfeit $20 and $100 bills.

OPD is asking businesses to be careful and check all bills closely.

According to police, the phony bills are usually thinner and smaller than a real bill. The fake bills can also be missing the presidential watermark that can be seen when held up to the light.

Anyone with questions in reference to counterfeit bills should visit the Secret Service website or call the Odessa Police Department at (432)335-4961.
