Seven arrested in Odessa after nationwide sex trafficking operation

Seven people were arrested on prostitution related charges in Odessa as a part of the FBI's Operation Cross Country X.

ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) - Seven people were arrested on prostitution related charges in Odessa as a part of the FBI's Operation Cross Country X.

The operation was an international effort focused on underage human trafficking and ran from October 13-16. The initiative took place across the United States as well as in several countries around the world.

On Thursday night, the FBI El Paso Division, Odessa Police Department, DPS Criminal Investigations Division and Homeland Security Investigations arrested seven people on prostitution related charges. The seven will be prosecuted by the Ector County District Attorney's Office.

According to the FBI, a 15-year-old victim was recovered as a result of the local operation.

Nationwide, authorities arrested 239 pimps and other individuals and recovered 82 sexually exploited juveniles.
