MIDLAND COUNTY, TX (KWES) - A traffic pattern change is on the way for Midland County drivers.
The change will affect drivers at the intersection of Interstate 20 at FM 1788 starting on Friday and will rotate through the project area.
Texas Department of Transportation officials said as a result of the next phase, temporary lane closures will be necessary to move and place concrete traffic barriers in the area.
The final change is scheduled for Thurs., Oct. 13.
TxDOT officials said the work is all part of a project that will adjust ramp locations, build acceleration and deceleration lanes on Interstate 20 and add turn lanes on the frontage roads.
Motorists are asked to find alternate routes if possible.
The speed limit in the area will be reduced to 55 miles per hour on the main lanes and 45 miles per hour on the frontage roads.
