HOBBS, NM (KWES) - The Hobbs Police Department received numerous reports about possible clown sightings over the weekend.
Police say Facebook posts stating clowns are harming people in the area have residents on alert.
Dispatch got calls questioning about if the clowns were real and a safety concern.
As of Monday, Hobbs police has not responded to any criminal activity involving clowns.
On Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m., officers responding to a clown call, but only found kids in pajamas with masks playing a prank on a friend.
HPD is asking the public to not report any false clown sightings as it ties up emergency communications and police officers.
