On Wednesday morning, a truck delivered over 11,000 pounds of carrots, onions, watermelon and more to the West Texas Food Bank.
The delivery is part of a pilot program administered through "Feeding Texas."
Their goal is to make produce more accessible to more Texans.
"It's not only giving people food, it's giving them healthy food. We work with a lot of children, families, seniors and they all need access to this type of produce," said Tina Corbett, Development Director at the West Texas Food Bank.
If you would like to learn how to qualify for food and produce from the West Texas Food Bank, give them a call at (432) 580-6333.
