ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) -

One woman and her three-year-old daughter were injured in an afternoon accident on Interstate 20.

The accident happened near the intersection of Interstate 20 and FM 1053 near the Ector County line.

DPS Troopers on the scene said a tire came off of a silver Dodge pickup traveling eastbound.

That's when, troopers said, the woman driving the pickup lost control and went into the median.

We're told the tire struck a maroon GMC Sierra headed westbound.

The driver of the Dodge pickup was critically injured and airlifted to the hospital.

Her daughter was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Their names have not been released by authorities.
