HOWARD COUNTY, TX (KWES) -

A new wind farm will bring more jobs and tax benefits to Howard County, all while helping the environment.

On Tuesday, Invenergy and 3M held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Gunsight Mountain Wind Energy Center.

Invenergy is the owner and operator and 3M will use the energy.

Invenergy said wind is not only a clean energy source but it's already positively impacting Howard County.

"Wind energy is renewable, so it's a very clean source of energy. This facility here will help create additional jobs in the area, we have nine people operating out of this facility here in Howard County," said Bryan Schueler, Senior Vice-President Development with Invenergy.

The farm will also offer tax benefits for Howard County, Howard College and the Big Spring school district.
