ODESSA, TX (KWES) - The Odessa Police Department is investigating following a burglary and an assault on the same victim.

We're told the burglary took place on Sept. 23 just before 8:15 a.m. in the 2700 block of Idlewood Lane.

According to the report, the victim reported to police that when she arrived home she saw broken blinds and glass from a kitchen window.

The victim also reported that she saw a man run from her bedroom and out the front door running westbound in an alley.

Police said the victim reported that she was missing an iPhone 5s, an iPhone 4, a smart phone, approximately $765 in cash and approximately $3,200 worth of jewelry.

Then just over three hours later, police responded to an assault at the same address as the burglary.

The same victim reported to police that while she was inside her home, she heard the water shut off to her home.

She told police when she went outside to check on the water, she saw the same suspect and that's when he hit her in the head with a large brick. We're told the man hit the woman on her left forearm and forehead before fleeing the scene on foot.

Police believe the suspect turned off the water to lure the woman outside.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 16-22 years of age, approximately 5'9" tall, 150-180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie during the burglary and a black short sleeve shirt when he returned.

Authorities said the incident is being investigated as a burglary of a habitation and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
