PRESIDIO, TX (KWES) -

U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced the seizure of 28 lbs of crystal meth, valued at nearly half a million dollars, at the Presidio Port of Entry.

Officers used an x-ray system which revealed anomalies near the radiator of a 2007 Ford Lobo, driven by a Mexican man. A narcotics dog also alerted officers to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.

A search of the truck resulted in the discovery of 22 bundles of methamphetamine hidden between the radiator and the transmission cooling system.

The 25-year-old man was arrested and turned over to Homeland Security Investigation ICE agents to face federal prosecution.
