MARFA, TX (KWES) - The Big Bend Sector Border Patrol seized 1,744 lbs of marijuana that was concealed inside bales of alfalfa.
The semi-truck loaded with bales of alfalfa entered the Highway 67 checkpoint south of Marfa for an inspection around 4 p.m. Tuesday.
A border patrol canine alerted agents to the trailer area. After some bales were unloaded, agents found several large bundles of marijuana hidden beneath the hay bales.
The man driving the truck is a Mexican Nation and has been turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation.
