Man charged in Odessa Church’s Chicken robberies

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - A man, already facing two counts of aggravated robbery, has been charged with five additional counts of the same charge.

Authorities say Martin Solis, 50, robbed people at gunpoint, two separate times at two different Church's Chicken locations.

One alleged robbery took place at the Church's in the 600 block of N. Dixie Ave. on August 20. Odessa police say their investigation found that Solis used a gun to rob three employees and fled the scene with cash.

Then on August 30, authorities say Solis robbed two customers at gunpoint in the parking lot of the Church's in the 3800 block of Andrews Highway. Police say he fled the scene with about $175 in cash.

Solis was already in custody on two counts of aggravated robbery. According to police, Solis held a man and a woman at gunpoint at the Rio Grande Pollo Asado Restaurant on South Grant Ave back on September 2.
