New developments released regarding Alpine prank caller, school shooting

ALPINE, TX (KWES) -

We're learning some new developments regarding the Alpine prank caller that called in threats to authorities last Thursday in Alpine.

Brewster County Sheriff Ronny Dodson said they have been getting e-mails from the prank caller. We're told that Dodson was actually talking with him up until Saturday via e-mail.

The FBI is working to track the IP address of where the e-mails were sent from.

Currently, the sheriff's office said they are focusing on the threats that the prank caller made toward Sul Ross State University and Big Bend Regional Medical Center last Thursday.

As far the shooting at Alpine High School, the police station is currently working the shooting investigation and no additional details were released.

Authorities have not released the motive behind the shooting or the name of the shooter or the victims names.
