ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) - Homeowners in Ector County will be looking at a bigger tax bill this year.
Ector County Commissioners approved a higher property tax rate and their budget.
That budget is being trimmed by $2.5 million.
"We did approve a tax rate increase of 37 cents per $100 valuation on all properties in Ector County. That is a rate increase, a pretty good rate increase of about ten percent," said Greg Simmons, Ector County Commissioner for Precinct 2.
An average Ector County home will be looking at about a $40 increase.
