Man accused of assaulting girlfriend with baseball bat, glass bottle

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - One man is behind bars on numerous charges after being located by Odessa Police on Thursday.

Faustino Rubio, 23, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (family violence) and for six outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

Back on Aug. 31, an assault was reported to Odessa police around 10:45 a.m.

Police said an investigation revealed that a domestic dispute happened in the 2500 block of East 11th St and the victim reported that her Rubio struck his girlfriend in the left knee with a metal baseball bat.

Further investigation revealed that Rubio began pulling his girlfriend's hair before striking her all over her body with a glass wine bottle.

That's when, police said, Rubio grabbed a small statue replica "Eiffel Tower" and continued to hit her all over her body with it.

The woman was taken to the hospital with serious bodily injury.

There's no word on her condition.
