UTPB Football defeats Sul Ross 27-6 to win its first win in school history.

WEST TEXAS (KWES) - ODESSA- UTPB Football defeated Sul Ross 27-6 to pick up the first win in school history.

Running back Brandon Infiesto rumbled into the end zone in the first quarter for the first score in Falcons history and it was smooth sailing from there.

The Falcons led 10-0 in the first half and used a big second half to seal the deal.

Quarterback Kameron Mathis finished the game completing 13 of 25 passes for 2 touchdowns, 1 interception and 163 yards.

Infiesto finished with 109 yards and 1 touchdown on 16 carries.

Defensively, UTPB's Emilio Solis lead the way with 10 total tackles.

Ratliff Stadium was nearly packed to the brim for the home opener, with fans tailgating since the early morning. It created an electric atmosphere just before kickoff.

The Falcons off-season slogan of "still undefeated" lives on.

The Falcons will face Arizona Christian at home next week.
