ODESSA, TX (KWES) - The search is on for a suspect following an afternoon bank robbery in Odessa.

The robbery happened just after 3:45 p.m. Monday at the Commercial State Bank, located at 3018 Kermit Highway.

Police said a man walked into the bank and demanded money from the teller.

Steve LeSueur with the Odessa Police Department said the man fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash possibly in a silver 2004-2008 Ford extended cab pickup that was last seen turning southbound onto West County Road. Police said the suspect's vehicle had a red sticker on the back window and a red fender on the front right.

Authorities added that no weapon was ever displayed during the robbery.

"He did not have gloves on and he smelled like beer and smoke," said LeSueur

Surveillance video is currently being reviewed to identify the suspect.

LeSueur said the suspect is described as a short Hispanic male, approximately 50 years old, with a mustache, wearing a gray hoodie and smelled of beer and smoke.

No injuries were reported as a result of the robbery.
