PRESIDIO, TX (KWES) - During a traffic stop, Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers seized more than 1,700 pounds of marijuana.
According to the El Dictamen de Ojinaga newspaper, it happened Sunday, August 14 about four miles north of Marfa in Presidio County.
According to DPS press release, a DPS agent stopped a 2007 GMC pickup truck that was heading North on Highway 17 for a traffic violation.
But during the stop, the agent found 736 packages of marijuana in the cab and the bed of the pickup.
A load with an estimated value of over $600,000.
The driver, identified as Jesus Galvan Fernandez, 26, was arrested for possession of marijuana, which is a second degree felony.
