One man is accused of assault on a public servant after police said he intentionally bit an Odessa police officer.

Police said they were called out to the Walmart East on JBS Parkway in reference to a theft.

When police arrived, they identified the suspect as Daniel Maxwell, 50.

According to the report, while Maxwell was being detained, he turned his head and intentionally bit an Odessa police Corporal on the forearm.
