Odessa PD investigating nine weekend robberies, some possibly related

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - The Odessa Police Department confirms that it is currently investigating 9 robberies that happened over the weekend.

Authorities say the suspects seem to be targeting purses, wallets and cell phones and that many appear to be related.

In five of the robberies, victims reported being threatened at gunpoint.

Corporal Steve LeSueur of the Odessa Police Department said, "Our detectives have been working around the clock on these investigations and it needs to stop."

Robberies were reported throughout the weekend at the following locations:

800 North Grandview Ave. (7-Eleven)

900 block of West 36th St.

900 block of West 4th St.

620 North Dixie Blvd (Church's Chicken)

1300 block of North Kelly Ave.

4800 block of Oakwood Dr.

3909 East 42nd St. (Target)

4900 East University Blvd.

1600 block of Adams Ave.

"At this time we need the public to be vigilant. We them to be aware of their surroundings and to please report all suspicious activity to us immediately," said LeSueur.
