UTPB Football goes to work in intrasquad scrimmage

ODESSA-  We are exactly two weeks away from UTPB Football taking the field at Ratliff Stadium for the first time ever, but fans didn't have to wait to see them in action.

Falcon Quarterbacks Kameron Mathis and Caden Coots both battled it out on Saturday morning in front of a good sized crowd.

Both quarterbacks were able to move the ball down the field with poise.

"Offense moved the ball really well," Falcons Head Coach Justin Carrigan said. "I would have liked to see more plays made by the defense, but we did come up with a couple turnovers, which is a point of emphasis every day for us defensively, we want to get the ball back. So we got a couple of those, so it was good on both sides."

"I think everybody was just working hard and focusing on their assignment, I mean just trying to get better, pushing the tempo so that really we can get ready for games," Falcons Left Tackle Corin Brooks said.

The Falcons will have another scrimmage next Saturday and of course the real thing is coming on September 3rd when UTPB opens the season against Sul Ross.
