One woman is behind bars following a high speed chase that started in Ector County and ended in Ward County.

Ector County deputies said they spotted a vehicle in the area of University Blvd and Ambassador Ave. that was reported stolen earlier in the day.

According to the report, the deputy attempted to pull the vehicle over but the driver of the vehicle sped up.

We're told speeds reached over 100 miles per hour when the chase reached Interstate 20 and FM 866.

Authorities said during the chase a man jumped out of the vehicle near Penwell and sustained minor injuries.

The chase continued westbound on Interstate 20 into Crane County and Ward County.

The vehicle led authorities through residential areas in Monahans at high speeds then turned back to Interstate 20.

Also, during the chase, the driver of the vehicle, later identified as Stephanie Clark, 39, also threw out a gun during the chase.

It took spike strips to end the chase at mile marker 55 in Ward County to end the chase.

No injuries were reported and Clark was arrested.

Charges against Clark are pending.
